MDTrak provides an elegant system for medical student tracking during their clincal rotations. Patient case demographics, care involvement, procedures performed, disease specifics, complications, and disposition are all followed; the desktop-networked application is available to all instructors with a series of analysis tools including a statistics generator, "ad-hoc" querying method, and specialized reports which can be reviewed with the student to identify areas of excellent or sub optimal patient care exposure. It also provides an excellent system for tracking multi-institutional care, academic resource allocation, and helping to optimize and standardize medical student involvement.
